Want to get Google Glass outside the USA? You may be able to do that officially now! Huawei’s Talkband B1 is now official, and the MX2 is getting a nice update.
People outside of the USA have had to go through jumps and hoops to get Google Glass. The device has only been available in its country of origin so far, but Google has just made it officially available outside the USA for the very first time.
Google has launched the Google Glass Explorer program in the UK, where people can now purchase the gizmo for a whopping £1,000. Needless to say, this won’t be cheap. £1,000 equals to about $1700 USD, which is even more expensive than in the USA!
Opinion: This is still the Explorer version, and we must keep it in mind. Google is not trying to make Google Glass popular in the UK just yet, hence the silly price. They simply want developers to have more access to them.
Huawei’s Talkband B1 has finally become official. Even though it was all over MWC, we never heard more about the device before the recent announcement. The company is keeping price and availability pretty hidden, but we do get a video showcasing the smartwatch.
In essence, the device is not too “smart”, which is what makes it great. It doubles as a bluetooth headset and features some health-centric trackers. In addition to being waterproof, of course.
Opinion: I loved the concept of the Talkband B1 when i saw it at MWC. It is small, looks good and does exactly what it needs to do. And it does it very well, at that.
Meizu is getting ready for great things, and the MX4 is looking to be an amazing phone, but we know some of you Meizu MX2 owners still want some love. You will be getting an awesome update to Android 4.4 next Tuesday (not tomorrow).
What’s more interesting is that Meizu will be offering two versions of the update. One is the “stable” iteration while the second one will be made for developers.
Opinion: It’s always amazing to see manufacturers still supporting older devices. The MX4 is about to be announced, which is 2 generations ahead!
