Tonight we have a bunch of exciting news and rumors for you! Google, HTC and Motorola are all ready to bring new devices to market. Will you get any of them?
We have been hearing about a second generation Chromebook Pixel for some time, but so far it has been nothing but vapor in the form of rumors. Today we get exciting news about the matter, straight from the horse’s mouth. Google has confirmed the existence of a new Chromebook Pixel at a San Diego event.
“We do have a new Pixel coming out and it will be coming out soon. We will be selling it but I just have to set your expectations: this is a development platform. This is really a proof of concept. We don’t make very many of these — we really don’t. And […] our developers and our Googlers consume 85% of what we produce. But yes, we do have a new Pixel coming out.”
Opinion: The original video was put down, but the guys at OMG! Chrome managed to get a transcript of evidence. Details continue to be scarce, but at least we now know a Chromebook Pixel 2 is coming… and soon.
It’s hardly a secret that HTC will be unveiling their next-generation HTC One at MWC, this March 1st. What we are not sure is exactly what will be the improvements we will see. The latest HTC teaser seems to suggest a major improvement will include more powerful BoomSound speakers.
Opinion: HTC is famous for its BoomSound speakers, and no other smartphone manufacturer has really beat them in the sound department. It makes sense that HTC will try to stay on top of this. I know I love my HTC One M8’s sound quality.

We have already seen a couple images of the 2nd generation Moto E, but this time around we are taking a look at a carrier-specific version. I also want to add that it is a very good resolution rendered image, so we are glad to see this leak coming around.
The big news here is that the device is advertised to come with 4G LTE, a feature that was absent in the first generation Moto E. It’s obviously one of the most requested features. We are not sure about the other specs, but a Sprint leak recently showed a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and a 4.5-inch 960c540p display.
Opinion: I have found myself recommending the Moto E very often. What other manufacturer offers a similar device for a similar price? Actually, I would like to see if the addition of the 4G LTE antennas will add to the price.
