We are at Microsoft’s yearly Build Developer Conference, where most announcements are related to Windows and everything surrounding it. We do get to see some industry-related goodies from time to time, and today we are taking a look at one of the most exciting games to come during 2015.
We are talking about Final Fantasy, a game that follows generations of hit games. These games are what made Square Enix the king of RPGs, and fans are in for a treat with the 15th installment. Square Enix will not be at E3, as they decided to wait until Gamescon in Germany, but they did give us an awesome teaser at Build.
Square Enix unveiled a new Final Fantasy demo that displays how DirectX 12 helped them achieve what this game has become. It’s an Art and Tech demo, so the focus is definitely on the technical details. We can see how impressive live, in-game DirectX 12 is. So much that it looks as if this was a video, but Microsoft displays how this is all being rendered live.
This is all very impressive, but we already knew Final Fantasy 15 would be a complex and very well-developed game. What really got us scratching our heads here is that this demo is running on a PC. A very powerful PC,t hat is – one that touts 4 separate powerful NVIDIA GPUs. REgardless, it’s still a computer.
Does this mean Final Fantasy 15 will come to PC? Maybe. Maybe not. We can definitely dream, though. And this would be a new move for a company like Square Enix, which has mostly stuck to consoles throughout their career.
Either way, enjoy the demo. I was sitting in my desk screaming like a middle school girl in front of Justin Bieber.
