Is your Apple Watch acting up? Maybe you are getting ready to hand it over to its new owner. Either way, your best bet is to perform a factory data reset, which will leave your Apple Watch at the state it was when you first turned it on (software-wise, of course). There’s a couple ways to wipe the Apple Watch, so let’s show you how it’s done!

How to factory reset Apple Watch without using iPhone

  1. Turn your Apple Watch on.
  2. Open the Settings app.
  3. Select “General”.
  4. Select “Reset”.
  5. Finally, tap on “Erase all content and settings”.
  6. Let the watch do its thing for a bit and voila. You are done!

How to factory reset Apple Watch using iPhone

  1. Your iPhone needs to be connected to your Apple Watch before doing this.
  2. If it’s connected, turn your phone on and unlock it.
  3. Access the Apple Watch app.
  4. Tap on “My Watch”.
  5. Select “General”.
  6. Select “Reset”.
  7. Tap on “Erase all content and settings”.
  8. Tap again to confirm and let the Apple Watch do its thing.
  9. You are done!
