Bing is gaining new grounds, but losing others. Meanwhile, we have some great Motorola news for those looking to get an affordable handset.

Facebook drops Bing in favor of its own search engine

Facebook has quietly made some important changes this past week. It turns out Bing has been removed from the social network’s search system some days ago. Instead, Facebook is opting for its own search tool, which offers a bigger focus on Facebook’s own content.

Opinion: I believe this is the right move. Facebook is not where you go for searching things. It’s where you go to see things about Facebook, and that is what their search function should focus on. We have other good search engines, Facebook should focus on social networking, instead.

Motorola looking to bring affordable 4G phones to India in 2015

4G smartphones are standards in markets like the USA, where even affordable devices come with faster data speeds. Such is not the case in emerging markets like India, though, where you mostly have to stick with 3G if you want to get a cheaper phone.

Motorola aims to change this in 2015, when they are planning to hit the Indian market with affordable 4G phones.

Opinion: We can’t forget Motorola has become one of the best affordable smartphone manufacturers. The Moto G and Moto E are stunning devices. Will these Indian 4G phones be similar?

2013 Verizon Moto X now costs only $199.99

The 2014 Moto X is one hell of a phone, but maybe you don’t want to spend too much money on a brand new one. If you want similar functionality and quality, you can also get yourself the previous generation of the Moto X.

The 2013 Moto X is pretty affordable off contract now. You can put your name on one for just $199.99, and that is off-contract. That is comparable to, say, the Moto G’s price, and the Moto X is a much better phone.

Opinion: Go get this phone while it’s still available. It’s a great deal for a good phone on an affordable price.
