Where is E Ink headed? The refresh rates and contrast can certainly improve, and they are. There are bigger plans for E Ink, and we are looking right at the technology’s future here at Computex 2014.
The Mobius E Paper grabs the E Ink idea and turns it into paper, and we say that in the most literal way possible. We didn’t get a chance to play around with it yet, but wanted to give you a quick eyes-on with it.
This E Ink paper is only 0.7 mm thick! Yes, guys. That is less than one millimeter, the smallest lines in your rulers. The Mobious madule we see here is a 30.3-inch flexible display. It should be able to take multiple form factors.
It is also very clear and great to look at in direct sunlight. This is really completely different from E Ink displays, it has become much more similar to real paper.
