Dell continues to be one of the strongest computer manufacturers in the world, but they haven’t had the same luck in the tablet market. We are at Computex 2014 taking a look at their new Dell Venue 8 – is it worth your attention?
The device feels pretty good in the hand and features a textured back that is bound to keep fingerprints away. As it is expected from Dell, this tablet looks very elegant and formal, taking that business-oriented approach we know the manufacturer loves. It does feel more premium than previous versions, even if the buttons do feel more flimsy.
Dell Venue 8 specs
- 8-inch 1920x1200p display
- 2.1 GHz dual-core Intel Atom (Z3480) Merrifield processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- 16 GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD)
- 5 MP / 2 MP cameras
- 4550 mAh battery
The device does perform pretty well, but we found it would sometimes stutter when moving from one homescreen to another. This never happened when we were recording, so you will have to simply take our word for it. Otherwise, it seems like a great tablet.
