Our favorite announcement at IDF 2014 was easily the Dell Venue 8 7000. As the title states, it was the tablet that made us believe Intel could, in fact, do Android the right way. I still believe the Dell Venue 8 7000 is the very best Android tablet around.
We finally got our dirty little hands on one and are ready to put it through our rigorous tests. Will it make it? We can’t say just yet, but we have unboxed the device for you and it’s a beauty.
Dell Venue 8 7000 specs
- Android 4.4 KitKat
- Intel Atom Z3500 at 2.3 Ghz
- 8.4-inch 2560x1600p OLED display
- 2 GB of RAM
- 8 MP Rear-facing
- 2 MP Front-facing
- Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera with 2 720p VGA resolution
- 6 mm thick
As you can see here, this device continues to be a beauty. It has a full metal body that helps the tablet feel very sturdy, while keeping a light and amazingly thin profile. The device feels great in the hand, but at times it can feel like it is a bit too thin. In addition, the bezels are so thin it can be slightly uncomfortable to use the tablet. We will tell you more about that when the review is done, though.
In the video we go into detail about the design and hardware, as well as some of the main features and the powerful performance this tablet boasts. Sit back, grab the popcorn and join us in the video below. I love this tablet, so maybe you will too.
