Despite its misleading name, the Cube i7 convertible laptop does not have an Intel Core i7 processor. Now that doesn’t mean it’s not a good Windows device, as it may be just what you are looking for. This is meant to be a mid-tier 2-in-1 Windows tablet made for those who want something that’s a bit less flimsy.
The important feature here is that the tablet is simple to remove from the keyboard, yet it doesn’t come off easily. As you can see in the video, the tablet has to be closed at a certain angle in order for it to become removable; otherwise it will simply stay locked to the removable keyboard. This ensures that you don’t have to deal with pesky buttons or switches, yet you don’t have to worry about everything coming apart on you.
Now, a good computer is not defined by its form factor (even if it is a factor). What we really care about is what it can and can’t do. This tablet comes with an Intel Core M processor, so it’s not super powerful, but it’s also no slouch. Two versions will become available, one is priced at $299.99 and the other at $659.99.
Cube i7 specs
- Windows 8.1
- 11.6-inch 1080p IPS touchscreen
- 2 GHz Intel Core M processor
- 2/4 GB of RAM
- 32/128 GB of internal storage
- 5MP/2MP cameras
- 4G LTE
- 10000 mAh battery
Of course, the cheaper version would be the one with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. That is one huge difference in price, but you may want to use this as a laptop replacement, in which case spending the extra $360 should be a good investment.
We can say we like the laptop, even though the brand is a bit clandestine. Not a lot of people know these computers, but maybe it’s time to make new friends.
