Computex 2015: ASUS unveils the new ZenPad series

The new ZenPad has been introduced with the slogan “luxury on your terms”. ASUS wants to market this new piece of hardware not only as a tablet, but also as a fashion statement. Consumers will be able to choose between 4 different models – ZenPad 7.0, ZenPad 8.0, ZenPad S 8.0 and ZenPad 10.1 (with optional keyboard). LTE/3G models will also be available.

Despite the slogan, design is not everything the new ZenPad is about.  Compared to previous generations, ASUS has improved screen and picture quality, mainly by implementing Tru2Life+ motion blur smoothing and TV HDR technology

These new tablets are powered by Intel Atom processors. Cheaper models will be equipped with an Intel Atom x3 processor. The ZenPad S will have a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580, 4GB of RAM (it is the world’s first tablet with this amount of RAM) and a 2K QXGA (1536 x 2048) IPS display. And all of that fits in a 6.6mm body that weights only 298g.

Tablets are getting thinner and lighter, but that’s not real innovation. The biggest surprise, and the thing that really makes the new ZenPad stand out from the crowd, is the new case equipped with 6 speakers (sick!) and a sub-woofer! These speakers are certified with BTS HD premium, so you can be sure they will be legit.

Sadly, nothing about price and availability has been mentioned, but we have some ahnds-on videos you can enjoy for now. Take a look at them and let us know how you are liking ASUS’ new tablets.
