During Computex last week Nicole managed to get some hands on time with the BungBungame ‘Wolf’ smartphone, a really aggressively priced 5 inch smartphone that pairs Android 4.4 with an Octo-Core processor and Sony Exmor RS camera – all for just $129. Watch Nicole Scott get hands on at Computex 2014.
The ‘Wolf’ was launched during Computex last week, and features Android 4.4 Kit Katt OS on a quite attractive 5-inch wide screen. The display has a 1080×1920 Full HD resolution with an impressive 441 ppi wide angle IPS panel. A MediaTek Octa-core 1.7G processor is backed by 2GB of RAM, 16GB of flash storage and a microSD card slot.
The real star of the show where specs are concerned is the inclusion of a Sony Exmor RS CMOS 13MP rear camera, which features a dual mode function, Dual LED Flash and f/2.2 aperture. The example pics that Nicole shows during the video prove the camera to be pretty damn good for a device at this incredible $129 price point. This a certainly device that we will certainly follow up on in the next few weeks.
We don’t actually know too much about BungBungame Inc. as a company, except that they were founded in 2008 as a mobile app development company, moving in to hardware in 2011. They are based very close to the Mobile Geeks offices in the Sanchong district of Taipei city, with subsidiary offices in Ginza Tokyo and are led by CEO Santai Hsu. The company currently offer three devices, the Tegra powered Kalos 10.1 inch tablet and the Android 4.1 10.1 inch tablet.
