There is a very broad range of devices, gadgets and technology on display at Computex each year, as you can imagine, but we’re always on the look out for that uniquely odd product that just blows our mind. Whilst perusing the upper levels of Hall 1, an area dominated by lesser known Chinese OEM manufacturers, we came across a real gem of a company called W Rider who are integrating Bluetooth headsets in hats, and handsets in to gloves. We took one look …. mind blown!
In terms of hats we saw a few different designs, some wooly and rural, some more hippster, but each had a bluetooth powered headphone integrated, position sp that you could listen to music from phone directly from the hat itself. I was a little cynical at first, but after a few seconds use, it was clear that the speakers they had used were of totally decent quality. The audio sound crisp with plenty of bass.
If the bluetooth hat our attention, the gloves totally blew us way. There is a mobile bluetooth handset integrated into the ends of the finger and thumb tips meaning you only have to use your hand to take calls. Very Inspector Gadget. Very cool. Very geeky. I pray that one day I will be able to use these in public and astound all on lookers.
The integrated bluetooth chips are version 3.0. The gloves will set back around $11 USD while the hats are available for a princely sum of around $12.50 – all wholesale prices of course. Minimum order $10000 pieces… 😉
