This year we have a fair share of super thin smartphones around the CES show floor, but one of the most interesting ones comes from BLU. This would be the Vivo X5 Max, a mid-range phone that has a great design and build quality. We are taking a good look at it here at CES 2015, so let’s check out what it’s all about.
The device definitely looks and feels great. It has an aluminum body that makes the device feel as good as any other high-end smartphone. In addition, the device is amazingly thin, measuring in at an insane 4.75 mm of thickness. This means that this is the thinnest phone around (up to our knowledge), but that is a title no phone keeps for long. The camera does bump out a little, but that is to be expected with such thin smartphones.
Now, we know the phone is super thin and good looking, but how much can it really do? Well, its specs are pretty enticing, though this is not meant to be a high-end phone. The Vivo X5 Max packs a 1.7 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 13MP/5MP cameras, Android 4.4.4 and a 2000 mAh battery.
The phone works and looks great. Granted, it is running its own version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The UI looks a bit too cartoonish for my taste, but some of you may like it. And if you don’t, it’s just as easy to throw a launcher in there.
Check out the video and let us know what you think of this phone. Too thin? Just right?
