Wireless charging is one of the most under-hyped features in smartphones, but it could change your entire smartphone experience. The ability to charge your phone without ever plugging it in makes it seem like battery is simply not a factor to worry about.
You may be wondering how wireless charging is even possible. The most common technology in use is Qi wireless charging, which allows you to juice up your device by placing it on top of a wireless charging pad, pillow or dock. A plethora of devices support this technology and yours may be one of them!
Sadly, many manufacturers are still making smartphones without wireless charging support (what’s up with the One M8, HTC?). If you can use this technology you should definitely get yourself at least one wireless charger, though. There is a huge selection, so we thought we would put together a list of the best ones out there. Let’s check them out!
Though it is a bit pricey, the Tylt Vu is one of our very favorite wireless chargers. In terms of charging, it works as expected: it will keep your phone alive and kicking. There is much more to this charger than just its main function, though.
This charger is very good-looking and is designed to work like a stand. It is a great addition to your desk set-up, allowing you to use your smartphone while charging, without having to remove it from the Qi pad.
Nexus Wireless Charger
This is the closest you will get to getting a wireless charger from Google. The Nexus Wireless Charger was designed to work specifically with Google’s Nexus smartphones and tablets, but should work with other Qi-compatible devices as well.
It is very small, but features a magnetic strap that places your devices right where they should be for optimal charging. Your device will simply snap right in. It also adheres to flat surfaces so you don’t need to deal with it moving around. It’s elegant, functional and small.
PowerBot PB1080 Qi Enabled Wireless Charging Pad
The previous wireless chargers are awesome to have at home, but what if you want to use wireless charging on-the-go? Yep, that is very possible! There are multiple manufacturers that make portable battery packs with Qi wireless charging technology.
My favorite are RAVPower and Powerbot, but i chose Powerbot’s portable charger because it sports an 8,000 mAh battery and manages to be very affordable. Hell, this is cheaper than some battery packs that don’t support Qi.
Think of the possibilities. You could use this charger at your desk, then unplug it and just put it in the same pocket as your smartphone to keep charging.
Nokia Wireless Charging Pillow by Fatboy
If you don’t like your phone laying on hard surfaces that may scratch it, Nokia has you covered. The Wireless Charging Pillow is sure to keep your smartphone comfy and looking good. Not to mention, it would be a great addition to your bedside stand.
This happens to be one of my very favorite wireless chargers, but only for aesthetic reasons. They are just so fun!
Nokia Wireless Charging Plate
The Nokia Wireless Charging Plate is your best bet if you want a simple and affordable, yet reliable wireless charger. It doesn’t have any fancy designs or cool features, but it will charge your phone and look good while doing it.
On Amazon you can get it for over $40, but I chose this one because it’s very popular and deals are often to be found. For example, AT&T currently has it for just $24.50. Click the link below to get it.
