ASUS made quite an entrance into the USA with the release of the ZenFone 2, this morning. This phone is amazing and should really shake up the affordable smartphone market in America, but that is not the only amazing product the Taiwanese manufacturer had for us.
We also got to see the ASUS ZenBook UX305 and ZenBook Pro. Though both of these laptops have been announced in the recent past, ASUS today made a formal introduction to US customers. And it’s obvious, ASUS made these laptops to compete against the most popular Apple computers out there. They had to enter the USA with a bit more style than a simple release.
The ASUS ZenBook UX305 is made for those who want a super thin and light laptop. It highly ressembles the MacBook Air or New MacBook, which is obviously its main contender. On the other hand, the ZenBook Pro goes right against the, you guessed it… MacBook Pro (which is why we compared them). Let’s run you through the specs first.

Of course, both laptops look and feel great. They are made with premium materials and aesthetics in mind, but what’s inside is targeted at completely different crowds.
The ZenBook UX305 comes with a slim body and modest specs. It also packs an Intel Core M processor, which makes it very similar to the New MacBook in terms of performance. It won’t give you too much power, but can take care of casual tasks for a price much lower than Apple’s laptops.
Meanwhile, the ASUS ZenBook Pro comes with top-notch specs that will not disappoint. It’s easily a better alternative over the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and happens to cost significantly less.
Where do I get these laptops?
Both laptops are available at major retailers already. The ASUS ZenBook UX305 can be had for as low as $699, while the ZenBook Pro costs $1499. Are you interested? I am really eyeing the Pro!
