We gave you a look at the ASUS Transformer Pad TF303CL earlier today. Not everyone wants to spend the extra cash on a higher-end, premium-built device like that one. We present the ASUS Transformer Pad TF103C to our affordable-conscious readers, a tablet that offers the benefits of a transformer device with a lower price.
This version is made mostly of plastic, albeit good plastic. It handles fingerprints pretty well and feels solid enough for the price. The 10-inch display sports 720p resolution. The 1.86 GHz Intel Atom processor and 1 GB of RAM keep it running farily well, and there are 8 GB and 16 GB versions available.
One downside is that the speakers are located in the back, whereas the higher-end version has them on the front. Such are the sacrifices one must make for an affordable tablet, though. The keyboard does feel as good as any Transformer keyboard. ASUS has done a marvelous job with these keyboards, which also extend battery life.
You may also want to wait until July, when a 3G version will be released. Either way, the price is said to be fixed at around 299 Euros, which is not bad for a tablet/keyboard bundle.
