ASUS unveiled the Taichi back at Computex but here at IFA we got to go hands on with the dual screen Ultrabook. It’s is much closer to release so its looking rater spectacular.
TAICHI includes Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 processors, 4 gigs of RAM, SSD storage, dual-band 802.11n WiFi, FHD/Super IPS+ displays and, naturally, dual cameras. The amazing thing is, even with these bad ass specs, the device is meant to be thinner than the ASUS Zenbook line up. Both the 11.6″ and 13.3″ models offer 1900 x 1280 pixels on each display. They can be used independently, so you can work on one side and your kid could watch a movie on the other. We have no idea what this will do to battery life, but its pretty cool regardless.
There are a variety of connectivity options as well starting with a lock toggle, mini VGA, USB 3.0 and power ports, while the opposite panel includes a headphone jack, a second USB 3.0 port, micro DVI, a volume up/down switch and a rotation lock button.
It’s still unknown when we’ll be seeing the TaiChi in stores, but this version is much closer to what we’ll see in the final version.
