Whoever said a convertible PC couldn’t also be large and powerful? While we mostly associate these devices with portability and economy, ASUS has managed to release a very powerful product. They call it the ASUS T300 Chi and it is their best Chi device announced at CES.
This tablet/laptop hybrid can replace your traditional laptop, offering a larger 12.5-inch screen and specs that compare with full-fledged laptops. And because it is a Transformer, it is optimal for work, media and even casual gaming. Let’s look at what the bigger Chi brother has to offer.
ASUS T300 Chi specs
- 12.5-inch 1080p or 1440p IPS Display
- 0.8 GHz or 1.2 GHz Intel Core M processor
- 4-8 GB of RAM
- 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage
- 2 MP camera
Not bad, right? But the specs are just the beginning. Let’s talk about how this bad boy looks and feels. This computer is gorgeous! The tablet alone is only 7.6 mm thick, while adding the dock will give the device a total thickness of 16.5 mm (which is still thin!).
The keyboard is great, the build quality is solid, and the device performs just as it should. We couldn’t test it to its limit, of course, but the little we used it gave us no problems at all.
We believe it’s a great product for the working professional who also wants to have some fun with his device during his downtime. I am actually considering buying one of the three Chi tablets. I am leaning more towards the T90 Chi, but I know I would enjoy the extra screen real estate. Plus, 12.5 inches is still pretty portable.
We should be hearing about pricing soon, but so far we know the device should be ab=vailable by March. Are you biting?
