Alongside their new Vivobook S200, ASUS will bring low end touchscreen notebooks to the market. The ASUS Q200 will come with an 11.6 inch touchscreen display and has already been listed in a few U.S. shops online for $550. Like all other Windows 8 devices, this super affordable device will be available for purchase on October 26th.
In essence the Q200 is an alternative variant of the S200. Instead of an Intel Pentium processor this model has an Intel Core i3-2365M dual core running at 1.4 GHz, 4 GB DDR3-RAM and a 500-GB hard drive. In addition, the device has Wi-Fi, Gigabit-Ethernet, VGA- und HDMI- outputs 2 USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0. Naturally the notebook will have Windows 8. The most impressive feature of the notebook is its multitouch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.
The ASUS X201E also has an 11.6 inch display, this one without touch, and comes with an Intel Celeron 847 dual core processor running at 1.1 GHz. The difference is this one has 2 GB RAM, a 320-GB hard drive and Ubuntu Linux. Its price is listed around $300.
