We gave you a look at an ASUS MEMO Pad 8 earlier, but that was the higher-end version of the device. There is a more affordable MEMO Pad 8, which comes with more modest specs but a friendlier price tag.
Right off the bat you can feel the difference between the ME581CL and this little guy. Though the feeling is very similar, there are obvious differences, like the fact this tablet’s plastic is not glossy. We actually prefer this over the higher-end’s fingerprint magnet.
The specs are also less surprising. This version sports an 8-inch 720p display (compared to a 1920×1200 in the other), a 1.86 GHz quad-core Intel Atom, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. It also has Android 4.4 KitKat and about “9 hours of battery life”.
It’s a neat little tablet and performs fairly well for its specs, we just have to wonder what the price will be. That is really the deciding factor here. Is the sacrifice worth the price? We will have to wait and see.
