No one should be surprised that cars that talk to each other result in better traffic, but seeing it play out is still super interesting. Cambridge University ran an experiment with autonomous vehicles that not only could communicate with each other, but also work together to prevent and resolve congestion, they discovered that traffic efficiency increased by 35%, resulting in less congestion.
It should seem obvious, but watching the video was extremely interesting, especially when they added a real driver into the mix who drove aggressively.
