It’s that’s time of year again, Computex has descended up Taipei with all it’s humidity, blasting heat with a healthy mix of gadgets!  Mobile Geeks is headquartered in this hot bed of innovation so it was interesting to see just how much has changed this year.  Computex has a new hall called InnoVEX which is in TWTC Hall 3 and it’s full of start ups from around the world. We got to play around with some new demos on the HTC Vive and we stumbled upon our best accessories winner.

The device also features three ports: HDMI, USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 and a traditional USB 3.0 connector.

Zenbook 3 (6)

ASUS has launched the Zenbook 3 which is a shockingly sexy thin and light Notebook that weighs in at only 910 grams. The Zenbook 3 is a 12.5 inch Windows 10 beast that is not only light thanks to a new “aerospace-grade aluminum alloy,” which it says is 40 percent stronger than what you usually find on laptops. Most Innovative Product – ASUS Zenbo

Zenbo’s main goals of “assistance, entertainment and companionship,” is in part aimed partially named at aimed at older people, but the truth is Zenbo has a place in everyone’s heart. ASUS has a great video outlining what he can do and emotionalizes his relationship with the entire family. A story teller, giver of gentle reminders, order’er of everything on the internet, coordinator of outfits, recipe reading assistant and the center of all your home’s controls.   Connecting with all smart devices Zenbo controlled the lights of the humble house on command. Imagine being able to do things like being able to check who’s at the door from a connected camera, remote-unlock the door from the robot’s or turning on you TVs or air conditioners. Think of Zenbo as your Smart Home Hub.

Accessible robotics for the home is now a reality as Zenbo will cost $599!

Best Enabling Technology – MediaTek Pump Express 3.0

Pump Express 3.0 enables direct charging through Type-C USB. Direct charging bypasses charging circuitry inside the phone and prevents the device from overheating while also routing electrical current from the adapter directly to the battery.

Best Accessory – Sensel Morph

Morph is a multi touch input device which has 20,000 pressure sensors, it detects a range of pressures, allowing it to detect any object. Since it’s able to detect pressure in this way, we have created overlays that allow the device to “morph” into many different devices, and you can even create your own overlays and thus your own “forms” of the Morph.

We’re especially excited about the potential that this product has in so many different disciplines, we can even see how something like this could be used to reshape the way we interact with our cars.
