It’s so good to know that you can now buy some amazing feature-rich smartphones even if you’re on a tight budget. There are phones in the market that cost less than $200, yet deliver near-premium features that include great displays, fast performance and multiple rear cameras; not to mention good battery life as well. Ahead of Black Friday, we’ve decided to create this new list of the best smartphones you can buy in Germany right now, at under $200, so without any more waiting, let’s get going with it.

Contents

  • Xiaomi Mi A3 – Pure Android experience
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 – Budget king
  • Nokia 4.2 – A compact affair
  • Moto G7 Power – The battery beast
  • Samsung Galaxy M20 – A solid daily driver

Xiaomi Mi A3 – Pure Android experience

Pros:

  • Smooth performance
  • Great battery life
  • Good cameras
  • Android One software

Cons:

  • Low-resolution display
  • No NFC

Android One has several benefits that include an interface that’s devoid of any unwanted apps and notifications. What’s even more alluring though, is the promise of quick software updates and regular security patches. What’s more, the Xiaomi Mi A3 also provides excellent performance with its combination of the Snapdragon 665 chipset and up to 6GB of RAM. It’s got a triple camera setup on its back, which includes a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor, all of which provide a versatile and satisfying photography experience. But despite the fact that it houses a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display, its low resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels might be a niggling issue for some. If you’re okay with that, you should also note that its 4030mAh fast charging battery can last you an entire day with moderate to heavy use.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 – Budget king

Pros:

  • Excellent battery life
  • Admirable display
  • Quad camera setup

Cons:

  • Performance hiccups
  • Bloatware and unwanted notifications
  • No NFC

The Redmi Note 8 is one of the most appropriate budget phones out there. It’s got a quad camera setup on its back that’s highlighted by a 48MP main camera, and also populated by an ultra wide-angle camera, a macro camera and a depth sensor. Another one of its headlining features is its 6.3-inch full HD+ LCD, which showcases its visuals in stunning detail. It’s got a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor at its heart, which is great at handling everyday tasks, but falls short of providing a flawless gaming experience. Inside the Redmi Note 8 is a 4000mAh battery, which will provide you with ample juice for leaving the house without a charger or power bank in your bag. Its MIUI software might catch the fancy of some, but its bloatware and spammy notifications are hard to get rid of.

Nokia 4.2 – A compact affair

Pro:

  • Compact body (might be a con for some)
  • Android One
  • Glass-based design
  • NFC

Cons:

  • Performance hiccups
  • Low-resolution display

The Nokia 4.2 has been targeted at those who don’t like to lug around the large-screened modern phones. It packs a 5.71-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels, and the tiny bezels around its body ensure that the size of the handset is kept small. It’s an Android One certified device, so all the advantages of the said platform can be availed by the buyers. What makes the Nokia 4.2 an attractive handset is its glass sandwich design that’s held together by a polycarbonate frame. Holding it will never make you feel that it costs less than $200. Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 439 chipset, which does encounter the occasional performance hitch, but there’s little to complain about considering the phone’s price. Plus, there’s also its 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup and its 8MP front camera.

Moto G7 Power – The battery beast

Pros:

  • Highly impressive battery life
  • Great performance
  • Feature-rich software

Cons:

  • No NFC
  • Low-resolution display
  • Single rear camera

The main appeal of the Moto G7 Power is the 5000mAh battery that it packs inside it, which allows it to provide around 60 hours of power on a single charge.  The device is made especially for those who don’t like to worry about constantly having to charge their phones to make sure they don’t run out of juice. And it offers great performance as well, with its combination of a Snapdragon 632 chipset and up to 6GB worth of RAM. The phone runs Android 9.0 Pie, and has a number of nifty Moto Action gestures as well. It does have a large 6.2-inch LCD on its front, but its resolution of 720 x 1570 pixels might be a turn off for some. The Moto G7 Power is one of those few phones out there with a single rear camera, but again, it’s not aimed at photography buffs in the first place.

Samsung Galaxy M20 – A solid daily driver

Pros:

  • Amazing display
  • Long battery life
  • Solid design

Cons:

  • Ad-ridden software
  • Subpar cameras
  • No NFC

The Samsung Galaxy M20 packs a punch with its value for money offerings. A gorgeous 6.3-inch TFT LCD panel has made its way onto its front surface, which is adorned by thin bezels and a waterdrop notch that gives it the full-screen appearance. The Galaxy M20 has also got powerful internals in the form of an Exynos 7904 chipset and up to 4GB of RAM. More importantly though, this phone carries inside it a 5000mAh battery to easily deliver two-day usage. As for the cameras, a dual 13MP + 5MP setup can be found on its back surface, while its front has been adorned by an 8MP selfie camera. This Samsung phone runs Android 9.0 out of the box with a layer of the company’s own One UI software, which although resourceful, happens to be filled with unwarranted ads.
