Apple went over a few services and products at its Spring Forward event. We definitely got much more than we expected (that Macbook is stunning), but what we all really wanted to learn about was the Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch is all but guaranteed to take over the wearable market, just like it always does with other new ventures. The announcement has concluded and we pretty much only got a rundown and a demo on some things we already knew about the Apple Watch.
Apple went over some app demos, voice actions, wrist calls, reminders, Apple Pay, health features, the magnetic charger and battery life. Which, by the way, the Apple Watch offers an “all-day” battery life of about 18 hours.
For now this is nothing new, but we will learn more about how the watch works soon and give you a more detailed article. The big news right now is really revolving around the Apple Watch’s price and availability.
How much will the Apple Watch cost?
It’s also nothing new to find out that the Apple Watch will not be cheap. There are two sizes: 28 and 42 mm. Size also happens to be an important factor in how much your Apple Watch will cost. The basic Apple Watch Sport will start at $349 and $399 for the 38 mm and 42 mm versions, relatively.
That is reasonable, right? It’s more expensive than other smart watches, but it’s a price most of us can still swallow. Things start becoming silly once you start moving up the ladder. The stainless steel Apple Watch will be priced at $549-$1049 for the 38mm model, while the 42mm version will run for $599-$1099.
But maybe you are not happy with mundane metals. You want precious metals, stones, and a flashy watch that you can proudly wear to the fanciest of events. Apple is catering to this crowd too, and the 18k gold Apple Watch will start at a whopping $10,000, with prices going as high as $17,000.
When can I buy the Apple Watch?
Whether you are getting the humble version or the luxurious Apple Watch, you won’t have to wait much longer to get your hands on your very own unit. Pre-orders start on April 10th, the same day when you will be able to show up at any Apple Store and try one for yourself.
Shipping starts on April 24th in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the USA. Will you be buying one? I know I won’t.
