Whatever happened to the iPod Classic? Tim Cook is letting us know. We are also hearing Office is coming to Android very soon, as well as a second OnePlus One pre-order opportunity.
The iPod Classic was the all-time… classic device. Like a good wine, it never got “too old”. In fact, it became a music fanatic’s dream with its 160 GB of storage. It could hold virtually any music collection, with ample space to throw around.
The device was quietly axed last month, though. What caused this? Tim Cook has spoken up on the matter and it turns out it was all about the parts, which Apple could no longer get access to.
Opinion: We are sure Apple has the influence to make something work. How many iPod Classics are still being sold, though? We are sure the real issue lies on demand, which is obviously lowering with smartphones and other devices becoming much more capable. The iPod Classic was home to many memories. I know I will keep it in my heart forever.
Are you ready to welcome Office for Android? Users have been begging for Microsoft’s office suite for a long time. Your prayers have finally been answered and the apps should hit the Google Play Store.
ZDNet’s sources claim Office for Android Tablets will be launched “soon”. Likely in early November, which is only some days away.
Opinion: I believe Office is a bit over-hyped lately. Most of us don’t really need a complex office suite, and other mobile applications work just as well. Do we really want Microsoft Office?
Did you get a chance to pre-order a OnePlus One during yesterday’s one-hour opportunity? If you tried, you will probably know there were some issues. The servers couldn’t handle the traffic and there were some bothersome bugs in the way.
OnePlus has taken it to its blog to apologize about the situation. Thankfully “tens of thousands of Ones” did get pre-ordered, meaning many of you were successful. Those who weren’t need not worry, though – another pre-order window is coming.
It will take place on Monday, November 17th at 15:00 GMT. Mark it in your calendars, guys!
Opinion: Well, this situation was to be expected. Come on! The OnePlus One is still an awesome smartphone and we know many of you would love to have one. At $300, that phone is a beast!
