Google’s Nexus 9 announcement wasn’t the only important tablet news we got this morning. In fact, Apple revealed some iPad details by “accident”. The leak conveniently happened around the same time as Google’s party, making us think they wanted to keep customers hyped for tomorrow’s Apple event.
This information comes from some iTunes screenshots that were published early on the iPad User Guide For iOS 8 page. It comes in the form of a couple screenshots that reveal the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.
Of course, this unveils the devices’s names, as well as the fact that Apple is returning to the numeral naming scheme. In addition, we now know the general designs will stay nearly identical.
The biggest functional and aesthetic change we can see in these images is the addition of the Touch ID fingerprint reader to both devices. Another screenshot proves Burst Mode will also be added to the iPad Air 2 list of features. Burst Mode was introduced with the iPhone 5s, so it’s good to see the feature finally reaching Apple’s larger devices.
That is about all we can get from these screenshots, which have now been pulled from iTunes and replaced with the older images. We do expect a golden version, a color that seems to be very popular these days. Of course, a stronger processor and your usual performance improvements are also predicted.
We will not have to wait long to see all the juicy details. The announcement of these devices is to take place tomorrow, so stay tuned to the MobileGeeks.com homepage for all your new iPad content.
