Today, during Computex 2015 in Taiwan, Acer announced the Acer Predator 8 tablet running on an Intel Atom X7 processor.
The new tablet was introduced during an Intel event led by St Liew, Acer’s President of Smart Product Business Group. It is the first Android tablet running on an Intel Atom X7, which is the highest-performing platform among Atom line.
Predator 8 has been designed with gaming in mind, that’s why Acer decided to implement four front-facing speakers to enrich the overall gaming experience. St Liew used Asphalt 8 to demonstrate the performance. The Game ran smoothly, but that’s about all we could really see.
It’s too soon to judge how well Predator 8 will perform as a gaming machine, but knowing that Intel Cherry Trail chips are much faster than Bay Trail based Atom processors, we can expect a lot.
Unfortunately that’s all we know about Predator 8 at the moment. Acer didn’t mention anything about other specs, pricing or availability, but you can be sure we will let you know as soon as they spill the beans.
