Acer Iconia One 8 hands-on: the right size for the right price

I have always said that 8 inches is the perfect size for a tablet. It’s small enough to be portable, yet large enough to tout a good viewing experience. If you are not happy with the 7-inch super affordable tablet has to offer, maybe you will be pleased with the Acer Iconia One 8, its slightly larger brother.

This 8-inch device comes with a nice screen that measures in at (of course) 8 inches and has a 720p IPS display. It may not be super shartp, but this is an affordable tablet and the panel is actually pretty good. The screen has great viewing angles, good brightness and awesome vibrant colors.

Acer-Iconia-One-8-01The design itself is very playful. Of course, it’s not the most solid device and it is mostly composed of plastic, but the plastic has a good texture. Not to mention, it comes available in a plethora of colors, so you can really get the fashion statement you prefer.

The tablet has an Intel Atom Z3735 with 4 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It also has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. You get the idea, the tablet works well, but it won’t be able to take your hard-core games.

It will come out in Europe for around 169 Euros (likely $169 USD in America), but we are not exactly sure when we will see it hit the market. Take a look at the video and tell us if you are thinking of getting one of these.
