When Google first started out Larry Page and Sergey Brine were given $100,000 check from Sun Microsystems co-founder, Andy Bechtolsheim. The check was made out to Google Inc. that check sat in Larry’s desk drawer to two weeks while the duo created a company called Google Inc.

Have you ever wondered how Google got it’s name? Well it was actually from a mistake, the co founders actually mis spelled, Googol. And why did they pick Googol as the name of their search engine, well initially they picked back rub, but that was obviously too creepy so they decided to get their geek on and picked googol which translates to the number 1 followed by 100 zeros which suggests infinite results. What a creepy world we’d live in if during a heated debate every said, I’m going to back rub that.
