New devices from Apple, Huawei and HTC are coming soon. Some are nice, some are powerful and others are simply unbelievable.
In the tech industry, the trend seems to lean towards a “bigger is better” mentality. Apple seems to be realizing this as they get ready to release larger iPhones, but they may not be looking to only supersize their smartphones.
Bloomberg reports Apple is also ready to launch a 12.9-inch iPad, offering a much more immersive experience. No release dates or prices were given, but we will probably start hearing more details soon.
Opinion: Apple was caught off guard in the growing demand for large screens. Though the iPhone’s portability is unbeatable, I often hear people saying the Apple device feels awfully small.
Huawei doesn’t want to be late to the sapphire display craze, but they are also not going all in just yet. It’s said the Chinese manufacturer is getting ready to launch a sapphire edition of their already-popular Ascend P7 smartphone.
The device wouldn’t see a full launch, though. Quantities will be limited and the release will come in batches, one coming in September and the next in November.
Opinion: While no prices were mentioned, it’s likely that this version will cost a bit more. Is the extra money worth the added protection?
An HTC event awaits us at IFA this September 4th, and now HTC is teasing a very interesting device. We only get to see the corner of the device, which displays a camera, but the most interesting part is written. It seems HTC is ready to launch the very first octa-core, 64-bit Android phone.
Opinion: We are not sure if HTC is referring to the Desire 820 or a completely different smartphone, but we will find out next week.
