Well here’s something you don’t see everyday! A smartphone running the Ubuntu OS. At CES we were totally surprised to find an Ubuntu smartphone– or rather, a smartphone running the Ubuntu OS.

We had not expected to find an Ubuntu smartphone at CES, but the even bigger surprise was the positive impression we had of the OS. The UI is fresh and interesting and using this OS for smartphones in a fascinating idea. Before now Unbuntu has been regarded as mainly a niche OS with a few enthusiastic followers, now that might change.

Ubuntu still has much work to do if they want to change their position in the market, but this is definitely worth checking out.
