Apple isn’t the only one to show off a notebook with a Retina display, Samsung has brought out another line up to their already very successful Series 9 line up of Notebooks, the Samsung Series 9 WQHD looks a lot like its predecessor but with one major difference, it has a stunning 2560 x 1440 display. Both the 11.6 and 13.3 come with this resolution and seeing as the 15.1 inch Macbook Pro with Retina display has a resolution of 2880×1800 and the 2460 x1140 are on smaller display’s the pixel density will be roughly on par.
The one thing that puts the Series 9 QWHD ahead of the Macbook Pro is that it comes with a matte display, if you’re looking at using your device on the go having a non glossy display is key. We weren’t able to discern a price point or release date, but I would expect those details soon.

Please, dont call it “Retina Display” its just a commercial fancy name from Apple to non-tech people just to says Hi Density Pixels… thanks!
What’s the resolution on the 11.6 inch? Google didn’t tell me anything about it either.
Off topic: Did you ditch Discus as a login option for comments? Why? Still see it on mg.de…
I still can’t open videos in full screen. Any idea why? Am I the only one with that issue?
Cheers,
Linus X.
Hey!
It was also 2560 x 1440, but they are both prototypes.
And we’re getting there on Discus! Bare with us
I’ll also let the webmaster know about that issue! Thanks for letting me know.
If the 11-incher has 2560×1440 resolution, then it has a much higher pixel density than the Macbook Pro Retina.
