The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has been announced and as expected this Android device has a larger 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 16:HD 9 screen. Before you complain that its gotten too big, its basically the same size as the original fablet the Note 7000. It doesn’t disappoint powerwise since it’s got a new quad-core 1.6GHz Exynos chipset which is actually faster then the SIII. The camera appears to be very similar to the 8-megapixel shooter that we’ve seen before from Samsung, it’s got an LED flash and 1080p video. The device has ofcourse gotten slimmer the Note was 9.7mm the Note II is 9.7mm.
One of the main features that we expected The Note II has also been given an update the S-Pen or the stylus now sports “Air View”, this is the ability to detect the hover position of the S Pen. The possibilities are endless, you’ve now got a quick preview function, which can show the contents of a folder when you hover over it and before you actually tap into it. There’s also a video preview feature which allows you to scroll through a video timeline to the section you want before tapping to go there.
Sascha is at the event, so expect our own photos and comparison videos in the next hour of so, not all of us are so lucky as to have our post go live when the event starts. #EngadgetEnvy
