OnePlus is introducing us to their new ROM, Google goes on the record about the Nexus 6 stock issues and a new Game of Thrones teaser leaks online.

OnePlus introduces OxygenOS to the world

OnePlus and Cyanogen had an awesome time together, but legal reasons and business proved that the Chinese manufacturer was better off working on its own software. They have been working on it for a while and now they are ready to introduce it to the world. Well, at least the name.

OnePlus’ software UI skin is to be named OxygenOS, a name that is said to represent what the ROM stands for. Oxygen, as an element, is clean, simple and very flexible. Likewise, OxygenOS is made with openness, customization, and simplicity in mind.

We don’t know much else about the actual ROM, but OnePlus will tell us more about it come February 12th.

Opinion: I can only hope that they keep their promises, which OnePlus has actually been very good at. Despite the fact that no one believed they could launch such an amazing product at such a low price.

Google goes on the record about Nexus 6 stock shortcomings

It is no secret the Nexus 6 is hard to come by. Despite its high price and over-sized body, people have been throwing their money at Google to get their hands on this peculiar smartphone. Google never really said much about the subject, though. We just knew the phone is always out of stock.

Google has just put together their quarter earnings call and they took a moment to talk about the Nexus 6’s success. Here’s what they had to say:

“While the Nexus 7 was very well received as a new phone, we had real issues and were unable to secure sufficient inventory to meet the demand that we had forecasted.” -Google CFO Patrick Pichette

Pichette later clarified he meant to say “Nexus 6”, not “Nexus 7”.

Opinion: It’s important to admit your faults. Especially to investors, who are pretty much funding your company. Google definitely gets a fair share of hat tipping from us, on this one.

Game of Thrones Season 5 trailer leaks

This piece of news is a bit outside of our usual coverage agenda, but we make such exceptions from time to time. We know a lot of our readers are fans of the Game of Thrones series, which makes today’s treat sweeter than anything.

HBO had some IMAX screenings of its Season 4 finale last night, but they also gave viewers a little something to hold them over until Season 5 comes around. It’s a trailer that hasn’t yet made it anywhere else. Thankfully, a ninja cameraman managed to catch it on video and now it’s available to everyone.

Opinion: Let me be the first to say that Tyrion looks amazing with that beard! Also, we need to see more dragon action already.
