While most of Microsoft’s partners seem to have had enough of Windows RT based devices, Nokia seems to be still confident about these devices having a future. What else would then explain reports of the company planning to unveil a Windows RT based tablet soon?
News of the possibility of Nokia working on a tablet has been around for quote some time now. Fresh rumors however started trickling in over the course of the past week or so followed by the usual set of leaked images.
Along with the images, we have some leaked specifications as well. The device is likely to sport a 10.1 inch full HD display and will be powered be a Snapdragon 800 chipset. There will be 2GB of RAM AND 32 GB of storage space along with provision for memory expansion using a micro SD card. Taking images using a tablet is a weird act – but manufacturers will continue to equip them with cameras and this one is no exception. The Sirius reportedly gets a 6MP rear-facing camera as well as a 2MP front-facing camera. There will be micro USB and micro HDMI ports thrown in as well. The device would also be thinner than the Apple iPad.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that if this tablet is indeed running Windows RT, Nokia would not be bringing anything new to the table. It would need to be a very compelling device for people to go out and start buying these. Do you think Nokia really stands with a tablet – that too based on Windows RT?
