Nokia Lumia 920: Official Follow Statement on the PureView Camera Faked Images

I hope the camera can actually stand up to the scrutiny since faking the key selling feature of the device, a device I might remind you that is meant to be THE handset showcasing Windows Phone 8, is not a good beginning to what is already a difficult road.

We publicly recently apologized that we at our demo video on the benefits of opitschen Image Stabilization (Optical Image Stabilization) – have not made it clear that the amendments – which was not included with the new Pure View camera of the Lumia 920 a simulation acted. The video was created at a time when the Lumia 920 still in the early prototype stage and was the possibility did not exist, let the innovation that lies in the unit, to their full advantage. While we had no intention here to mislead you, it was an obvious mistake, this is not clearly marked. We apologize for expressly.

Another misconception were the photos and night scenes in the streets of Helsinki, who also came from the aforementioned video and show the same actress in three different scenarios:

On the bike, in a Karoussel and in the night streets of Helsinki. In the video and it is merely a simulation of the benefits of optical image stabilization and thus includes our apologies that this has been done in all parts not immediately identifiable.

While the Lumia 920 is nearing completion, the quality of results produced by Pure View camera images is getting better. We have some photos taken with the camera of a prototype, posted here: http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/7/3299784/nokia-lumia-920-pureview-camera-hi-res-photos and in addition we have “The Verge” invited to test the camera and the results were for all to see. Therefore, we look forward to soon sharing more great photos that were taken with the Lumia 920.
