We just caught up with the very latest device from French Smartphone manufacturer Wiko Mobile, the Wiki Wax. It’s has a 4.7 inch 720p display and is one of the very first devices powered by Nvidia’s new Tegra 4i platform. The Wiko Wax is 4G ready with an Nvidia integrating the new Icera i500 LTE modem. The Tegra SoC is backed with 1GB of RAM, with 4GB of internal storage, plus there’s an 8MP rear camera… all running Android 4.3 Jelly bean.
Formally known as ‘Project Grey’, Tegra 4i represents Nvidia’s latest prong of attack in the mobile platform segment. Tegra 4i features a four plus one arrangement with four ARM A9 cores clocked at 2.3GHz backed by a shadow core which kicks when light load tasks are in play. As you would expect from graphics giant Nvidia, the Tegra 4i also features 60 GPU cores, so we’re expecting pretty decent scores in gaming benchmarks when get a device to test in our lab.
We still don’t know too much about when the Wiko Wax is due to hit the market or the price point it’ll be aiming at. But we do know it has really good viewing angles , it’s super light for a 4.7″ device, but if history is anything to go by, the pricing should be pretty aggressive. We’re expecting a touch under 300 Euros.
