We are approaching one of the best times of the year to buy a smartphone. Announcements are coming left and right, and tonight’s post is all about upcoming smartphones.
Verizon has launched a not-so-brand-new phone named the Motorola Luge. It’s a great mid-range phone, but some of you may get less excited after you realize it’s nothing but a re-branded Motorola DROID RAZR M, meant for the carrier’s prepaid network.
Just in case you forgot, specs include a 4.3-inch qHD display, a Snapdragon MSM8960 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, a 2000 mAh battery and more. All for the price of $299.99 straight from Verizon ($199 through the website).
Opinion: I would say that is a bit pricey for a mid-range smartphone. Especially considering affordable options are becoming quite abundant. The RAZR M is a good little phone, though, and Verizon users don’t have many options.
Hot on the heels for the HTC One M8 for Windows? Verizon launched it exclusively, but we know it’s coming to other carriers in the near-future.
T-Mobile has taken it to Twitter to announce that the Windows Phone-clad HTC powerhouse will be coming to Magenta’s network during the Fall. Furthermore, they have provided a website where you can pre-register to get more information as soon as it is available.
Opinion: I am eager to see how well Windows Phone works on the HTC One M8. They have taken a bold move, so let’s hope it’s not a bad experience.

We all know Xiaomi can’t keep devices in stock for more than some seconds. Maybe stacking up on more devices will help them stay in stock for over a minute or so. This is why Xiaomi is really gearing up for their Redmi 1S Indian release.
The manufacturer has stocked up 40,000 units for this launch! They often limit their stocks to about 10,000, meaning you will probably have more time to rush to their website and buy the phone.
Opinion: We are expecting these to sell like hot pancakes, so be ready as soon as September 2nd comes around. It’s a 5,999 INR (about $100) device!
