Microsoft isn’t going to make us wait much longer for the Surface Pro. Microsoft’s business oriented tablet will be hitting the shelves February 9th in the U.S. and Canada for $899 and up. While the rest of the world groans in disappointment, those of us stateside can finally rub our hands in anticipation.
The Microsoft Surface Pro will obviously have Windows 8 and will come in two different models: the 64 GB for $899 and $999 for the 128 GB version. Both come with the Surface Pen but don’t come equipped with the keyboard or mouse. For the keyboard you’ll have to shell out $120 or $130 for the Touch or Type cover. The wedge mouse costs about $70, so in the end the Pro will cost you the same as an ultrabook.
Microsoft will also offer new accessories on February 9th, including new cool Touch Covers with designs on them. These fancy covers will cost about $130. Microsoft also announced that starting february 9th the Surface with Windows RT & 64 GB will be available sans touch keyboard for $599. In addition, the Surface with Windows RT will be in stores in 13 more European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).
There’s no word as of yet when the Surface Pro will make its way around the world. For now, Americans and Canadians will be the only ones with the Pro.
