At Taiwan Nano Exhbition the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) showed off some nanocoating technology on a variety of different devices including a mobile phone. How does it work? The waterproof nanocoating is 1000 times thinner than a human hair. A nanometer-thin coating is applied to the product using a gas which allows it to penetrate inside the casing and repel liquids.
