In case you are an Apple user, today might be one the most awaited days of your life. Chances are high that you might not be even reading this post because you’re too busy downloading the iOS 7 update released earlier today. Or is it that you are here because you tried downloading and nothing happened and your iPhone is for some reason not “completing” the update and the subsequent activation process?
Well, if you are reading this on your Android phone or on the PC, let me first reassure you that our iPhone is all right. The reason why your update process is stuck is due to the fact that Apple’s servers were unable to cope up with the surge in traffic after iOS 7 started seeding earlier today. This has resulted in some phones that are being updated to remain in a limbo of sorts. The worst part? You cannot use the phone again till the process completes! And for the process too be completed, your iPhone needs to be “activated”. The servers that were assigned to do this activation process have apparently given up and as I type this away with a smirk on my face, Apple employees are working hard to sort the mess.
The situation has been the same since morning (if you are in the US of A) and have forced Apple to issue an internal high alert. I guess a bunch of people might just get fired for this!
Also to be noted is the fact that in case Apple doesn’t manage to fix this soon, there would more trouble lying ahead. Why? Because a bunch of other new iPhone users would be getting their hands on (and activating) the new iPhones that launched last week. They go on sale this Friday.
Anyway, I am sure Apple would not let this go out of hand and would be fixing things very soon!
