Rumors of Intel buying Nvidia have been floating around for years, so it’s not really surprising that it’s making a come back. If you think about it, the idea really isn’t that far fetched because Intel makes great processors but sucks at GPUs, Nvidia makes awesome GPUs. Match made in heaven really!
The latest rumor of these two processor deisgn companies coming together come from Theo Valich over at The Bright Side of News, who has been covering the technology industry for well over a decade, and he’s often right when it comes to industry gossip. He claims that Intel and NVIDIA are currently in negotiations and when the deal is complete, NVIDIA’s CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, will become the new head of Intel.
It’s interesting because we’ve heard that Intel’s current CEO, Paul Otellini was forced out because of his failure in the mobile ecosystem. Intel has also not named a successor leaving the position vacant.
There are a few factors that do make it seem like there could be a hint of truth to this, however, here is a quote from Theo:
“This rumor should be taken not with a grain of salt, but rather with a whole 18-wheeler truck filled with the said ingredient.”
What do you think? Could this turn out to be true?
