September just keeps heating up! After the Nokia, Amazon and Motorola launches, Nicole and Sascha found themselves at the Intel Developers Forum in San Francisco. During the Intel Labs Media Panel, where they discuss the future of computing, we couldn’t help but see a few of Intel’s prototypes around.

Intel Ultrabook Prototype with Ivy Bridge, Touchscreen & NFC – IDF 2012

Of the ultrabook pprototypes, a 13.3 inch experiment stood out. The touchscreen ultrabook prototype has a resolution of 1600 x 900 and of course, is equipped with Windows 8. The device is based on the latest Ivy Bridge architecture from Intel and this model sports a Core i7. Add 4 GB RAM and an Intel 180 GB SSD to the picture and you have something very interesting. The first version of this ultrabook will soon be released to developers.

That alone might not be enough, but Intel also added everything you’d want from a smartphone or tablet to the device including NFC, GPS, UMTS, movement sensors and an ambient light feature. Tasty, no?

Naturally there is a hands-on video in the works, so stay tuned for that update!
