Huawei is already teasing products before CES next weeks in Las Vegas and it looks like they are pushing the boundaries with a 6.1 inch Phablet. Right now Samsung is king of the large form factor Smartphone with the Samsung Galaxy Note II which measures in at 5.5 inches. The Ascend Mate was teased their retail store in Guangzhou China and is stand apart feature is that it has a 1080p HD display.
The Ascend Mate is competitively priced under $500 but we’ll have to wait until their launch event in Las Vegas to hear the official word. Under the hood we’ve got Huawei’s K3V2 quad-core processor, which had received mixed performance reviews in the past, clocked at 1.8 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. We’re happy to hear that it has a massive 4000 mAh battery which is even larger than the 3300 mAh battery on the Droid RAZR Maxx HD, but it’ll need it with that HD display!
We hope that this device does indeed make it to US & European shores and won’t remain in China like so many of Huawei’s devices. Huawe’s press event is on the 7th of January where we’ll be so keep an eye out for more news and of course videos!
