Today is full of leaks, confirmed rumors and new devices. Will you be getting any of these? Maybe it’s time to upgrade!
HTC is said to be looking into re-entering the tablet market. More specifically, they are said to be joining the mid-range market, but so far everything we knew was vapor. We had no rumored specs or details.
This changes today as an Indian import/export report shows us a 7-inch HTC H7 with a 7-inch display, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and dual-SIM capabilities.
There’s also an estimated per unit value listed, which makes things a bit more interesting. These devices are listed at 9565 INR, which equals to about $150 USD. It will probably cost a bit more, considering profitability and all that, but that still looks like a promising price point.
Opinion: HTC makes great hardware, so I am really looking forward to seeing what they are putting together.
An interesting device showed up at NVIDIA’s website recently. It was a Shield Android TV with 500 GB, priced at $300. This came as amazing news to those who believed the 16 GB version simply wasn’t enough, but NVIDIA quickly put our hopes down saying this was a developer unit and wouldn’t be released for the public.
The unique device was quickly taken down and we never heard about it again… until today. NVIDIA seems to have made another slip, as a customer service representative mentioned in the forums that the “first batch will be the 16 GB version, while the Pro version will be available a few months later.”
Opinion: Now, we are still wondering if that $300 price point we saw earlier will stick around. It seems likely, but the representative didn’t say anything.
