HTC is investing in the Windows 8 Phone market in ernest. As their power in the Android smartphone sphere wanes, HTC moves to secure their place with Windows Phone 8. Today the company announced two new phones: the HTC Windows Phone 8X and 8S.
The 8X and the Windows 8 interface go hand in hand on this 4.3 inch display. It’s colorful body and light slender design make it seem all the more preferable to the somewhat chunky Nokia Lumia 920. The HTC Windows Phone 8X is running a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor at 1.5 GHz. The smartphone has 1 GB RAM, 16 GB memory, 4G LTE, Beats Audio and a micro SD card slot. Clearly, HTC aims to knock Nokia off their Windows Phone 8 high horse.
The 8S comes with a 4 inch display, 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB memory, a micro SD slot and a 5 megapixel camera. The 8S is more in the vein of the One Series, aiming for mid to high end smartphone status.
The two Windows 8 phones from HTC should be on the market in November and it will be interesting to see how they fare in opposition with Nokia.
