This morning is full of hot news! We are taking a look at a new Chromebook, a new iPhone feature and a new(ish) Verizon phone.
The original Chromebook Pixel was stil the most powerful and beautiful Chromebook your money could buy. It didn’t seem like an old computer, as Chrome OS is an always-new operating system. Regardless, some of you may want an upgrade after 2 years and today you are getting it.
Google has just introduced the new Chromebook Pixel. It comes with more power, better battery life and a very similar design (which is a good thing). In addition, prices have slightly gone down. The new Chromebook Pixel starts at $999, which is still high, but a better deal than the previous generation. There’s also an LS version, though, which comes with even more powerful specs.
Let’s start by telling you about the basic iteration. The new Chromebook Pixel comes with an Intel Cire i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the Chromebook Pixel LS features a super powerful Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Both come with the same gorgeous 2560x1700p display and about 12 hours of battery life.
Want to buy one? head on over to Google’s brand new web store, where you can find it along with all other Google products.
Opinion: First of all, I have no idea who would need a Chromebook with that much power. It’s simply insane! Also, I am wondering if Google will be giving this one away at Google IO, this year.
The new MacBook introduced Apple’s Force Touch trackpad, a new technology that allows the computer to know how much force you are applying on a click. It’s a pretty cool feature, though we won’t know how well it works until we get our hands on it. We expect the new technology to spread, but we never thought it would come to mobile devices, as a new report suggest.
Anonymous sources are at it again, this time saying the upcoming iPhones will feature Force Touch technology. It’s also rumored we will see two models again, with identical display sizes and similar resolutions. What will change is that a new color might be added – pink.
Opinion: Force Touch on a smartphone? I could definitely see some good uses. Many of you will agree that a pink iPhone may be more exciting, though!
Rumors and teasers have been leading the way to a very long-awaited Nexus 6 launch on Verizon’s network. It has been months since the device was launched, yet Verizon users have been missing out on the fun. But don’t fear, this long wait will end soon.
Verizon has just announced they will be launching the Nexus 6 come March 12 (tomorrow). You won’t be able to get it at your local store that day, though. You will have to wait until March 19th to check it out in person before cashing out.
Oh, and Verizon is giving those who buy the device a pretty neat treat. If you buy a Nexus 6 before March 31st, you get a free 6-month subscription to Google Play Music. The phone will cost you $249.99 on a 2-year contract, but you can also get it on Verizon Edge for $27.08 a month.
Opinion: It’s better late than never, right? After all, this continues to be one of the most powerful smartphones around. It’s a great buy if you can handle that huge display.
