Apple is rolling full steam ahead in lieu of its astonishing defeat of Samsung in the patent trial. Apple demands that 8 of Samsung’s products be banned in the U.S. for patent infringement, while Samsung pleads to have the innocent Galaxy Tab 10.1 released from its injunction. In addition, Samsung is fighting for the $2.6 million bond Apple promised them if the Galaxy Tab turned out to be guiltless.
Luckily for Samsung, most of the devices on Apple’s hit list aren’t even on the market any more, but Samsung will fight the bans on principle. Here’s a list of the gadgets:
Galaxy S Showcase
Galaxy S 4G
Galaxy S2 (AT&T)
Galaxy S2 (Skyrocket)
Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile)
Galaxy S2 Epic 4G
Samsung is determined not to be fleeced by Apple. They are fighting back with everything they have. Since it was ruled by the jury that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 didn’t infringe on the D’889 design patent of the iPad, Samsung is trying to get the sales ban lifted. The final injunction is not yet finished and there is danger yet for the Galaxy Tab. Judge Koh can override the jury’s decision and patents ’381, ’915 and ’163 for “bounce back” scrolling, pinching to zoom and tapping to zoom are on the list of infringement for the galaxy tab 10.1.
